With the purpose of starting the FICEM-APCAC networking through the interaction of its three action areas: Communications, Markets and Products and Manufacturing of Cement, the Board of Directors at its first meeting of the year, appointed the directors in charge of coordinating each of these work areas.
The president of the Communications Commission of the FICEM-APCAC, in charge of adjusting the Strategic Plan in accordance to the association’s evolution, will be Máximo Dolman from Lafarge Venezuela. The commission’s team will be formed by Gabriel Restrepo from Cementos Argos of Colombia, Jose Otavio Carvalho from Sindicato Nacional da Indústria do Cimento of Brasil, Hugo Rodrigres from the Asociación Brasilera del Cemento Pórtland and Amalia Rozo from the Federation’s management, and they will be responsible for the communication actions’ planning towards FICEM-APCAC internal and external audiences.
On another side, the Market and Products area, in charge of promoting the cement based systems, will be lead by Sergio Egloff from Holcim Costa Rica. In the Institute Commission, committee of this same area, will be Carlos Ossa, Executive Director of ICPC, accompanying him.
Regarding the directives
of the technical committees, Carlos
Jofré from IECA will be in the Roads committee; Fabrizio Bravo from ICPC, in the
Housing committee; Irene Campos from ICCYC, in the Concrete Products committee,
and Daniel Dámazo from IMCYC in charge of the Education committee.
The Cement Manufacturing area, in charge of spreading the
best practices directed to incrementing the productivity, efficiency, and quality
in the production processes, will be lead by Arun Goyal from the TCL group of Trinidad
and Tobago. Luiz Alberto Santos de Castro from Votoramtim Cimentos will be leading
the Efficiency topic, Humberto Junqueira de Farías from Camargo Correa, Environment,
and Marcel Duboe from Lafarge Ciments Antillas, the matter of Social Responsibility.
With the conformation if this government model developed
by the Board of Directors in Miami, FICEM-APCAC will establish a joint action plan
which will lead to clear and measurable results of the actions the Federation undertakes
seeking the sustainable development of the industry in the region.
Next meeting
In
this manner, with the Board of Directors’ first meeting, it was possible to establish
the alignment of the FICEM-APCAC strategic concepts in front of the associate members,
through the formalization of its networking and a defined government model. The
next Board of Directors’ meeting will be held in Miami on 25th April.
