The first of them, the Industrialized Housing International
Seminar, will be organized by the
FICEM-APCAC and the Cement and Concrete Institute of Guatemala and the FIHP.
The event will take place on the 26th
and 27th of May in the Capital City of this country. The
spreading of the best construction practices in the Industrialized Housing in the
region and the optimization of mitigating Technologies and processes for the environmental
impact of the operations in the sector will be the main topics of the seminar, seeking
the Sustainable Development.
The second event in
which FICEM-APCAC will be participating
in 2008, will be hosted in San Salvador. It is the 5th National and 1st
Central-American Forum on Housing: Habitat and Sustainability in the Globalization.
On Wednesday 9th July, opening date for the Forum, the FICEM-APCAC Housing
Committee will launch the “Industrialized Housing Basic Manual and Implementation
Guidelines” (Manual
básico y guías de implementación de la Vivienda Industrializada)
result of Fernando Mayagoitia’s, member of the Cement and Concrete Mexican Institute,
research.
In the same way, topics related to successful experiences
in Sustainable Housing, Urban Development, and Efficiency in Energy Use in the construction
chain will be treated. The event that will conclude on 12th July will count with
the participation of the Ministers of Housing from the Central-American region.
The third event scheduled in the FICEM-APCAC 2008 Agenda
is the Masonry International Seminar
in Costa Rica. The Costa Rican Cement and Concrete Institute has designed
and agenda for the spreading of the best practices in masonry within the region
and for facilitating the communication of technologies, processes, and products
directed to satisfy the necessities of this sector of the construction. The event
will take place in San José de Costa Rica on the 7th and 8th August, 2008.
On the other hand, the participation of FICEM-APCAC for
second time in the Concrete Show South America 2008, will take place on the
27th, 28th, and 29th of August in Sao Pablo. By
participating in this event FICEM-APCAC is aiming to support the region’s development
by the optimization of technologies and processes in the operations of the sector.
Finally, the Board of Directors established the dates when
the XXV Technical Conferences and the XVIII FICEM-APCAC Partners’ Assembly and Congress will be held. The first are to be
taking place in Panama on the 8th, 9th and 10th of September and the XVII
Partners’ Assembly and Congress will be held in Cancun, on the 15th,
16th, and 17th of October.
The topics to be discussed during the XXV FICEM-APCAC
Technical Conferences will be:
the spreading of security and occupational health initiatives related to the production
quality of the cement industry, initiatives of responsible management and innovations
to mitigate the environmental impacts of the sector’s operations, as well as the
optimization of technologies in order to make an efficient use of the energetic
resources.
On its part, the thematic agenda of the FICEM-APCAC
Congress in Cancun will be focused in Sustainable
Development. The goal will be to share the best practices to minimize
the consumption of the limited energetic resources in the sector, to facilitate
its efficient and sustainable production, with the optimization of technologies
that properly satisfy the construction and infrastructure necessities in the region’s
countries.
In this way it is structured the event offer that the FICEM-APCAC has for the 36
production companies, 15 institutes, and 6 associations members of the Federation
in 2008.
