| XXV FICEM-APCAC Technical Congress in Panamá | ||
 At this time, the Federación Interamericana del Cemento FICEM-APCAC is opening the invitation for you or any member of your company to participate at the XXV Technical Congress with the presentation of “Technical Papers”. The Conference will be held in Panama, from September 8 to 11, 2008. Some of these papers will be selected by the Technical Committee to be included as part of the conference. The authors of the three best Technical Papers of FICEM-APCAC associates will be awarded with US$2,500.00 to the first place, US$1,500.00 to the second place and US$1,000.00 to the third place.Topics of this year congress will be: Safety (new technology and equipment), Energy Conservation, Evironment and Mine restoration. We recommend the Technical Papers to emphasize the actions taken and its results, highlighting the search for competitiveness of cement plants. We also suggest to include data or numbers of increased productivity, either reflected in costs, efficiency, or operating capacity. The Conferences shall be no longer than 30 minutes; simultaneous translation to English and Spanish will be available. If you are interested in participating we invite you to submit a brief of your Technical Paper no later than July 6, 2008. Final selection will be advised end of July. The brief should have a maximum of 4-letter size page. It should also include the author, company and country of the submitted Technical Paper, as well as its contents and objectives. We include in this letter formats for the brief and certain basic information to take into account for the elaboration of the Technical Papers. Those candidates who already have their Technical Papers complete may submit a preliminary copy of it, without the requested brief. In addition to the presentation of the Technical Papers submitted by FICEM-APCAC Members, the XXV Technical Congress will be complemented with papers of suppliers of the cement industry, the 1st. day seminar, as well as exhibition stands.
